Sedona Film Festival features 'Piano Jazz' documentary

The Sedona Film Festival is underway in the red rocks of Northern Arizona. One of the films featured at this year’s festival is “In Good Time.” It’s a documentary about the life of jazz pianist and long-time host of NPR’s “Piano Jazz,” Marian McPartland.

One hundred years ago, Arizona statehood wasn't a pressing issue to D.C.

In 1912, Arizona became the 48th state to join the union. Manifest Destiny was already assured, so as far as Washington was concerned, adding Arizona was not a pressing issue.

Fourteen-year-old Joe Hudy and his marshmallow cannon got the attention of President Obama at the White House on Tuesday. The young man from Phoenix was there as part of the White House Science Fair. 

Housing prices up across the Valley

Housing prices nationwide fell in the last quarter of 2011, ending three months of price increases. But the Phoenix area was among the exceptions, showing healthy gains. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Terry Ward reports.
